Isoperimetry and Rough Path Regularity

چکیده
Optimal sample path properties of stochastic processes often involve generalized Hölderor variation norms. Following a classical result of Taylor, the exact variation of Brownian motion is measured in terms of ψ (x) ≡ x/ log log (1/x) near 0+. Such ψ-variation results extend to classes of processes with values in abstract metric spaces. (No Gaussian or Markovian properties are assumed.) To establish integrability properties of the ψ-variation we turn to a large class of Gaussian rough paths (e.g. Brownian motion and Lévy’s area viewed as a process in a Lie group) and prove Gaussian integrability properties using Borell’s inequality on abstract Wiener spaces. The interest in such results is that they are compatible with rough path theory and yield certain sharp regularity and integrability properties (for iterated Stratonovich integrals, for example) which would be difficult to obtain otherwise. At last, ψ-variation is identified as robust regularity property of solutions to (random) rough differential equations beyond semimartingales.

Non-degeneracy of Wiener Functionals Arising from Rough Differential Equations
Abstract. Malliavin Calculus is about Sobolev-type regularity of functionals on Wiener space, the main example being the Itô map obtained by solving stochastic differential equations. Rough path analysis is about strong regularity of solution to (possibly stochastic) differential equations. We combine arguments of both theories and discuss existence of a density for solutions to stochastic diff...
متن کاملA Variation Embedding Theorem and Applications
Fractional Sobolev spaces, also known as Besov or Slobodetzki spaces, arise in many areas of analysis, stochastic analysis in particular. We prove an embedding into certain q-variation spaces and discuss a few applications. First we show q-variation regularity of Cameron-Martin paths associated to fractional Brownian motion and other Volterra processes. This is useful, for instance, to establis...
متن کاملRegularity of Schramm-Loewner evolutions, annular crossings, and rough path theory
When studying stochastic processes, it is often fruitful to understand several different notions of regularity. One such notion is the optimal Hölder exponent obtainable under reparametrization. In this paper, we show that chordal SLEκ in the unit disk for κ ≤ 4 can be reparametrized to be Hölder continuous of any order up to 1/(1 + κ/8). From this, we obtain that the Young integral is well def...
متن کاملThe Jain–monrad Criterion for Rough Paths and Applications to Random Fourier Series and Non-markovian Hörmander Theory
We discuss stochastic calculus for large classes of Gaussian processes, based on rough path analysis. Our key condition is a covariance measure structure combined with a classical criterion due to Jain and Monrad [Ann. Probab. 11 (1983) 46–57]. This condition is verified in many examples, even in absence of explicit expressions for the covariance or Volterra kernels. Of special interest are ran...
متن کاملSensitivity of rough differential equations∗
In the context of rough paths theory, we study the regularity of the Itô map with respect to the starting point, the coefficients and perturbation of the driving rough paths. In particular, we show that the Itô map is differentiable with a Hölder or Lipschitz continuous derivatives. With respect to the current literature on the subject, our proof rely on perturbation of linear Rough Differentia...
